Low Carb Berry Lime Italian Soda
Berries are a clever way to enjoy some sweetness on your Keto diet. You’ll be amazed at how perfectly sweet and flavorful this Keto Italian soda recipe really is! A thick berry syrup is made with a blend of frozen blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The syrup is mixed with heavy cream, so even your soda is adding fat macros to your food log. Adults and kids will have fun pouring sparkling water into the syrup and watching their soda bubble up and fizz to the top of their glass! Enjoy this Keto Italian soda as a treat or drink it alongside another one of Carb Manager’s Italian meal recipes.
Speed up the recipe time
Most of the recipe prep time is dedicated to cooling down your berry syrup. To speed up this process, put a small dish or plate in your freezer at the beginning of the recipe. Pour your hot syrup into the chilled dish, then put it in your freezer for about 10 minutes. This should cut down your prep time by up to 20 minutes.

Other flavors to try
You can use sparkling water to enhance or change the flavor of your Keto Italian soda. You can tone down the lime flavor by using plain sparkling water or substituting it with a different flavor. Pick a berry or strawberry-flavored sparkling water to enhance the flavor of the natural berries in your soda. Step 1
Add frozen mixed berries to a small pot, then fill the pot with about ½” of water. Bring the pot to a simmer on the stove until the berries become super soft and can be broken down with a wooden spoon. Remove the pot from the heat, pour the ingredients into a blender, and blend the berries and water until everything is macerated.Step 2
Pour the berry puree through a strainer into the pot you used before. Return the pot of berry puree to your stove, and stir lime juice and liquid stevia into the puree. Bring the puree to a simmer and reduce it until it is a thickened liquid syrup.Step 3
You’ll need to transfer the hot syrup to your refrigerator or freezer to chill before making a soda with it. Smaller amounts of syrup can take as little as 30 minutes to cool. Once the syrup is cooled, make one soda by pouring one tablespoon of syrup into the bottom of a glass. Stir one tablespoon of heavy cream into the syrup.Step 4
Gently pour 6-8 fluid ounces of lime-flavored sparkling water into the glass, being careful not to let the fizzy bubbles pour out of the glass and make a mess. Once the bubbles have settled, top off the soda with about two tablespoons of plain whipped cream. Pierce through the cream with a straw into the soda, and gently stir the soda if needed.
