Budget-Friendly Keto Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

14 ratings

People often think that doing Keto on a budget is impossible. It doesn't have to be. Our crispy fried chicken thighs with the best mushroom sauce you'll ever taste is a fabulous and inexpensive dinner for the entire family! This easy recipe is rich and savory, with a fantastic cheese flavor. It's a perfect comfort and filling budget Keto dish you can make for dinner and keep the leftovers for the next day. If the sauce is too thick, feel free to add more heavy cream. You can also add a tablespoon of sour cream to the sauce or over the served meal. It will perfectly complement the creamy mushroom sauce.

Can I use chicken breast instead of chicken thighs?

The chicken breast will also be absolutely perfect for this recipe. You can use whole chicken breasts or cut them into bite-sized pieces to reduce the cooking time.

Can I use different types of cheese?

Crumbled feta or a piece of your favorite blue cheese would be fantastic for this recipe. You can also serve the prepared dish with some shredded mozzarella on top. The options are endless, and you will get a delicious combination every time!

How to store the leftovers?

Place the leftovers in air-tight containers and refrigerate them for up to 3 days. Heat in a microwave when ready to serve. The sauce will remain perfectly creamy and delicious.

I am usually skeptical about Keto recipes, but this one is delicious!! I’m not a lover on Parmesan cheese so I added Sargento Creamery Baby Swiss Cheese as it doesn’t have any Carbs. Definitely a keeper!!!

Great flavor profile! I added some Nutritional Yeast just for some extra protein, and it went great. Also diced the chicken before cooking, I just prefer the meat bite-size before serving.

I made this up for church. I increased the recipe for 12 and used Porta Bella mushrooms. It was outstanding and easy to do.

Epic fail. . I used steaks cut off of a roast
. Equals tough meat,,, too much extra fat and renderings made for me
. A tasty Parmesan and mushroom soup😂 My beautiful dinner date elegantly stood fast and chewed through my over cooked meat while her blue eyes glistened from the reflections of my dining table light
 lol
hopefully she will give me another shot at the title as I’m sure if my pooches were still alive they’d have been fed gloriously under my dining table 😂 next time,,, sticking to the recipe NaNu NaNu

Use New York strip or ribeye steak cut in pieces, approximately 2 inches long and a half inch wide. Salt and pepper and do a quick stirfry. They still have to have some pink and remove them from the pan. When the sauce is done, add the meat back in and you have tender meat in a wonderful sauce.

So... you only gave it 3 stars because you failed to follow the recipe? I suggest making the actual recipe and THEN giving it a rating instead of skewing the ratings because you didn't follow directions.
