High Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Keto Balls

7 ratings

Chocolate and peanut butter is a popular combination that never seems to disappoint. These protein-packed peanut butter balls are easy to prepare, contain just 2g of net carbs, and are super satiating, making them one of the best high-protein Keto snacks. You can whip up these fat bombs in minutes using only a food processor.

Which type of peanut butter is best for this recipe?

Choose a brand of peanut butter that is sugar-free and Keto-friendly. Check the labels, and make sure that no sugar or sugar syrups have been added. It would be best to use thick peanut butter instead of thin peanut butter. As for texture, you can use either creamy or chunky according to your preference.

What can you coat these peanut butter balls with?

While we have rolled these Keto peanut butter balls in cocoa powder, you can get inventive with yours. You can coat them with chopped peanuts, dark-chocolate shards, freeze-dried strawberries, or shredded coconut.

Can you use any protein powder for this Keto recipe?

Unfortunately, no. While it may seem like most protein powders are low-carb, many contain a significant enough amount of carbohydrates to kick you out of ketosis, especially if they’re flavored. But don’t throw in the towel yet, because many protein powder brands are suitable for a high-protein Keto diet. Some great options include whey protein isolate and collagen protein, containing 0g of carbs per serving.

Can you adapt these peanut butter and chocolate balls to a vegan diet?

Of course! Simply swap the protein powder for a vegan type. Just make sure that the plant-based protein powder you use is Keto-friendly since many are high in carbs.

Can you prepare these high-protein Keto balls with other nut butters?

Absolutely! Try swapping the peanut butter for almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower butter.

Made these just according to the recipe using Monk fruit. I didn’t read ahead on the instructions so I tossed in the cocoa powder with everything else. Just formed them into balls and voila - a delicious treat!
