Keto Egg Fast Sweet Chaffle w Whipped Butter

Wondering what a chaffle is? Chaffles are the combination of two things: cheese and waffles! Even better is that chaffles are also only made with two ingredients: cheese and eggs. Chaffles are the perfect food to make on a Keto egg fast diet. This take on chaffles takes you to the sweeter side of breakfast. Just a couple of fasting-friendly ingredients are added to the batter to make vanilla and cream cheese-flavored chaffles. Melted over each one is a tablespoon of whipped butter sweetened with a Keto-friendly brown sugar substitute. Make a large batch to meal prep for the week or serve them hot and fresh every morning of your Keto egg fast.

Can I Use A Waffle-Maker?

This recipe utilizes a standard cast-iron pan for cooking chaffles. If you like the appearance of waffles, you can use your waffle maker at home. Since this batter is a little thinner than a typical waffle batter, you’ll need to reduce the heat setting on your waffle maker, if possible. Make sure to spray your waffle maker thoroughly with pan spray as well.

Cast Iron Vs Non-Stick Skillets

A cast-iron skillet is best for cooking egg fast Keto recipes because they cook the most evenly and will always release your cooked food if taken care of properly. Since a recipe such as this one is a heavily modified version of a common breakfast food, your ingredients will be a little delicate at times. A good-quality non-stick skillet can also be used, but make sure you don’t over-heat your batter while it’s cooking.

  • Step 1

Make the chaffle batter by cracking the eggs into a food processor or powerful blender. Add the cream cheese cut into 1-ounce pieces, along with salt, liquid stevia drops, and vanilla extract. Use the pulse button to carefully blend the ingredients until the eggs and cream cheese are broken up. Then, you can turn your appliance on to blend the chaffle batter into a lump-free, frothy liquid. You may need to scrape the batter down with a spatula and blend more than once to complete the batter.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Choose a cast-iron or non-stick skillet to heat on your stove to medium-low heat. You may choose a large skillet to cook multiple chaffles at once, or you can use a standard 8” skillet to cook one at a time. Melt ½ teaspoon coconut oil per chaffle you’re cooking in the skillet. Once the oil is heated, pour ¼ cup of batter per chaffle into the skillet. Let the batter slowly spread into a circle. After the chaffle cooks a little, use a spatula to gently fix any thin or misshapen edges.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Reduce the heat as necessary once you see how quickly your batter is cooking. You may need to use only a low heat setting if you’re cooking just one chaffle at a time. Once the chaffle has turned golden brown on one side and the batter has settled, flip the chaffle over to finish cooking on the other side. Transfer the finished chaffle to a plate to cool, and repeat the cooking steps to finish making all your chaffles.
    Step 3
  • Step 4

Once the chaffles are done cooking, you can make the whipped butter. Add cold or softened butter to a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. Do not try to heat your butter to soften it. Blend the butter at a high speed for 5 minutes until the butter is soft and appears lighter. You may need to scrape the bowl down with your spatula while mixing a couple of times to ensure all the butter is mixed. Then, mix the brown sugar substitute into the butter until it’s blended throughout. Scrape and whip the butter as needed to complete it. Each chaffle should receive about 1 tablespoon of whipped butter.

this is not a chaffle recipe, chaffles are made with eggs and cheese, maybe some almond flour for stability. These are like pancakes or crepes. Was a little bland so i added some red pepper seasoning. Mrs. Dash makes a great mini chaffle maker.

These are SO good! I accidentally blended the butter in with the mix, and it was a very tasty mistake! :)
