Easy Keto Egg Omelet in a Mug
Keto for beginners can be a bit overwhelming, so it is best to incorporate easy recipes into your diet. This egg omelet in a mug is packed with spinach, cheesy cheddar, and seasoning, making it delicious and nutritious. It is the ultimate 5-minute breakfast for busy mornings. And best of all, you won’t have any dirty dishes and bowls when preparing this recipe.
How to customize this recipe?
A Keto diet for beginners should be as flexible and forgiving as possible. In place of spinach, you can use other leafy greens like collard greens, kale, or fresh herbs. You can even swap the cheddar cheese for any other type of cheese like mozzarella, gouda, blue cheese, cottage cheese, feta, etc… Season this omelet with your desired seasoning. You can top the cooked omelet with creamy avocado for added fats.
What ingredients to use for this easy Keto breakfast for beginners?
This microwave omelet is one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever make. The reason is that it uses ingredients that don’t need prepping. Frozen spinach is already washed and chopped, so that will save you a couple of minutes. Using store-bought shredded cheese will save time and eliminate dishes and utensils. Also, we opted for powdered garlic instead of fresh for flavoring.
Is this recipe suitable for meal-prep?
Absolutely! You can easily adjust this recipe to make it suitable for meal-prep. The only change we suggest is cooking the omelets in glass containers rather than mugs. This is because they can be safely sealed, making them last longer in the fridge. These microwaved omelets will last for 4-5 days in the fridge.
