Can you customize this Keto detox salad recipe?

This Keto detox salad is very versatile. You can replace the kale with any other ow-carb greens of your choice or add a mixture of detox-friendly vegetables. A few options include spinach, brussel sprouts, and arugula. Feel free to replace the fresh mint leaves or add extra fresh herbs like cilantro, which have excellent detoxifying properties. For an element of crunch, try adding nuts like walnuts or almonds. Moreover, to make this salad more filling, feel free to add a source of protein packed with healthy fats like salmon or eggs.

Is it safe to consume raw vegetables?

Yes, it is safe to consume raw vegetables. However, not all vegetables should be consumed raw due to their natural toxins and sugars, which are hard to digest and may lead to digestive issues. The general rule of thumb is to incorporate a mixture of both raw and cooked vegetables in a diet to reap the most nutritional benefit. That being said, partially eating raw vegetables can give you the optimal amount of enzymes, vitamins, and minerals required for good health. Raw vegetables may guard the body against inflammation and other chronic neurodegenerative diseases. This Keto detox salad recipe uses raw vegetables like broccoli and kale to ensure your body reaps the maximum nutrition needed to detoxify.

How can you store this Keto detox salad?

I bet you won't have any leftover salad to store, but if you do, here is how to go about it. If you want to prep this salad ahead of time, the simplest way is to turn this Keto detox salad into a mason jar salad; that way, it keeps fresher for longer. In a mason jar, start with broccoli at the bottom, followed by the kale, herbs, scallions, and hemp seeds. Make sure to store the salad dressing separately or, preferably, make it fresh since it contains avocado, which will most likely turn brown. Dress the salad only when ready to eat to avoid having a soggy salad. This Keto detox salad keeps well in the fridge for about 2 to 3 days maximum.
