recipe was easy to follow and simple. flavor is good. texture is way off. It would be much better if you could find coarse ground flax seed. It makes quite a lot in my opinion. over a cup. It's more like a porridge. I would definitely do it again especially on a cold morning. also very heart healthy

This was ok. It tastes more like a breakfast meal to me. I will probably try again for breakfast and instead of cheese, add cinnamon and Stevia.

Loved it! The flavor is very similar to grits but the texture isn’t quite there. Perhaps if you ground your own flaxseed but didn’t grind it very fine and left some more texture to it. That might work. For those saying that it is runny, make sure you use coconut flour and not powdered coconut milk and to give the flax time to thicken up before you eat it.

It was so yummy, just runny a little bit, maybe I'll add xanthan gum next time to thicken it, also I added a dash of black pepper and I omitted the salt, the cheese salted the gritz very well, I added 1 beef hot dog to it and it was a complete meal 😋

The flavor was okay but I wasn’t fond of the texture.

Nice try, but honestly not even close to real grits. I was excited to try, but I couldn't even finish the bowl. If you can stand the taste, it would be very filling.

I like my grits a little thicker. Will reduce water down next time. I’m a northerner and like grits sweet or savory. And these were reminiscent of cream of wheat if I was going sweet.

I was pleasantly surprised with this. I dressed it up a bit and put a little bit if bacon in it. It's the closet thing to grits I've come since I started keto

I was really surprised I loved this so much. I was skeptical and never used flaxseed in my life. I added some bacon to it and shrimp to make my grit recipe. Already dreaming of making this dish again.

I have made something like this often. Depending on how I feel, I add freshly grated parm, garlic power, I add cooked pork sausage or bacon but tomorrow, it’s shrimp. Thanks for the shrimp suggestion

Awful, tastes nothing like grits. Of course, I should have guessed when it said to put cream on top. Southerners don’t do that because it’s not cream of wheat or oat meal!!!!

Lol thanks for this, I was curious I’m a southerner as well!!! I was so confused by the ingredients. Yeah I’ve heard of Northerners eating it like cream of wheat. 🤮 but hey I’m sure it’s wonderful if you’re used to eating it like that.

There are people who like grits and people who don't. I like cheesy grits, and these taste darn close to the real thing. I made the recipe as written and, YES, it tastes and feels a LOT like real cheesy grits (and I just calibrated in Austin a few weeks ago - yes, I cheated on keto and ate the real thing). Glad to have the recipe. Note, I did follow the written recipe and stir in cheese and let it melt into it before topping with cream (that is the way most cheesy grits are made), but the photo shows unmelted cheese along with the cream (I think that was a posed photo to show that there is cheese in it), but for max flavor let the cheese melt. Then, after tasting as written (which was good), I did add the following: 1 T chopped green chile - OMG that is soooo good. And I stirred in 1 T hemp hearts for added protein since I had this for lunch with no additional protein (no noticeable change in taste or texture). Next time, I might try crumbling a slice of um bacon into it. But for today, I'm loving the slightly spicy, chile cheese flavor. YUM! - (if you like cheesy grits . . . Note: it's a full cereal bowl, so if serving on the side of something else (soup comes to mind), this recipe would serve two.

Surprisingly, not bad! I’m going to eat half of it with my egg tomorrow.
