Low Carb Air Fryer Molten Lava Mug Cake

Need a delicious ooey, gooey chocolate Keto Air Fryer dessert recipe in under 15 minutes? This Keto Air Fryer Molten Lava Mug Cake will fit the bill. Butter is combined with melted chocolate, almond flour, and egg, then baked in the air fryer. The air fryer is perfect for this application because it helps brown the top of the cake, unlike a microwave. The piping hot cake will be cooked on the edges but oozing in the center when you dip a spoon in for the first bite. Be sure to guard your molten cake against any onlookers!

What if I do not have an air fryer?

If you do not have an air fryer, you can cook the cake in a 350 F oven for a similar length of time. You will need to keep a close eye on the cake as it may take several minutes longer depending on your oven. Alternatively, you can place the cake into a very tall mug cake and microwave it for 45 seconds.

How do I know the cake is done?

You can insert a paring knife or a toothpick into the center of the cake and on the sides to see how far the cake has cooked on the edges compared to how much is uncooked in the center. You will want to have about a 1 ½” uncooked center.
