Best Keto Chicken Bone Broth
Bone broth is a wonderful food item to add to your weekly rotation because of the host of minerals and collagen it contains. When cooked, collagen breaks down into gelatin and other beneficial amino acids like glycine and glutamine. Gelatin, abundant in bone broth, may be helpful in the digestive tract because it binds to digestive fluids and helps with the movement of food through the digestive system. Our bone broth is deliciously made with pasture-raised chicken bones, onion, celery, carrots, parsley, and sea salt. We like to use unrefined sea salt for all the minerals it provides.
What is the best way to prepare the bones?
We like to be resourceful with our whole chickens, so be sure to save the bones from a whole roasted chicken for this recipe. You can also use raw chicken bones from which you have deboned the meat, which you can use for another occasion.
Do I have to simmer the broth for so long?
The longer you simmer the broth, the better (up to 24-48 hours). Doing so will allow for the most extraction of vitamins and minerals, and collagen from the bones.
What other ingredients can I add to the broth?
Feel free to add any amount or kind of herbs you would like to the broth. You can add things like bay leaves, thyme or rosemary.
