Keto Steak Frites (French Steak and Fries)
To all the steak lovers out there, we introduce a uniquely meaty, juicy, and tender beef dish. Being one of the most popular meals in France, steak frites is a comforting dish worth exploring. Succulent steak is served with tangy herbed butter and fries. With just a few tweaks, this recipe can effortlessly be adapted to a Keto-friendly diet. It is one of the easiest French Keto recipes to recreate at home.
What beef cut can you use for this recipe?
This French dish uses entrecote, which is a beef steak cut from between the ribs. It is basically a thin, boneless rib-eye. If you can’t find this specific cut, you can use ribeye, flank, or strip steak.
How to make Keto fries?
The fries in this popular dish are typically made from potatoes. But since potatoes are high in carbs, this Keto steak frites recipe uses a delicious potato alternative, turnip. Turnip fries make a healthy, low-carb, and mind-blowing alternative. The Keto fries are seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder and baked until golden. Once cooked, the bitterness of the turnips mellows out and they take on the seasoning flavor. Feel free to use your favorite Keto fries, or try this kohlrabi fries. recipe instead.
How to make the herbed butter?
This compound butter complements the Keto steak frites by adding richness, a slight tang, and some needed freshness. Whisk room temperature butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, chives, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl until incorporated. Add it to the steak after it has been cooked and rested. You can use flavored butter or swap it for creamy aioli.

I need an honest answer: I **LOVE** French fries. I’d really like to find the closest possible sub. I’ve tried rutabaga and it was … not… what I wanted. How do parsnips and / or turnips compare?
