These delicious handmade Keto sausages make a healthy and flavorsome alternative to store-bought sausages. Our low carb recipe is prepared with ground pork, fresh sage, a hint of garlic, salt, pepper and tender prosciutto slices. These make a great protein option for adding to Keto breakfasts, lunch or dinner.

What Kind of Pork Should I Use?

We have used ground pork with 20% fat for this Keto recipe. Using a pork with a high fat content helps the mixture hold its shape, adds all-important Keto-friendly fats and flavor, and prevents the meat from drying out in the oven. You could also make the sausages with ground turkey or ground chicken thigh meat if preferred. Please be sure to adjust your macros to account for any changes made to the recipe.

    Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the ground pork to a large mixing bowl with the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Finely chop the sage and add to the bowl. Use your hands to mix everything together until well combined.

    Divide the pork mixture evenly into four portions. Roll each portion into a sausage shape roughly 1 inch thick. Arrange the sausages across a clean work surface.

    Take a piece of prosciutto and wrap it tightly around one of the sausages on a diagonal. Repeat this process with the remaining sausages using up all the prosciutto. The sausages should be well covered.

    Transfer to the oven and bake for 18-22 minutes or until completely cooked through. The prosciutto should be crisp and golden. Serve the sausages with your preferred Keto sides.
