Low Carb Dark Cocoa Coconut And Strawberry Smoothie
If you were told you could eat chocolate-dipped strawberries without ruining your diet, wouldn’t you? Make this Keto cocoa coconut milk smoothie when you want your Keto snack to taste like a dessert! Real coconut milk from a can - not the cartons you buy in the dairy aisle - makes your smoothie thick and creamy. The coconut flavor is subtle, not overpowering. What you’ll really taste is the blend of frozen strawberries and organic 100% dark cocoa powder in the smoothie. Strawberries are Keto-friendly and naturally sweet. Adding Keto cocoa recipes to your weekly meals is a low-carb way to include antioxidants in your diet. Dark chocolate is also believed to help regulate hormones in women. This smoothie makes a healthy meal and dessert all in one!
Reduce The Recipe Carbs
Although the flavor may be altered, there are substitutions you can make to the recipe to reduce the carbohydrates. Substitute the coconut milk with almond milk to make the largest difference. You can also substitute the strawberries with a blend of frozen mixed berries, which will have slightly fewer carbs than frozen strawberries. If you want to make the smoothie sweeter, use liquid stevia drops, which have zero carbs.
Make It A Smoothie Bowl
If you want to turn your smoothie into a bowl, add more ice cubes until it has a thicker consistency that can be scooped. You can even transfer your smoothie to the freezer in a bowl to thicken before eating. Top the Keto smoothie bowl with dark berries, like blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. Coconut flakes, chia seeds, and hemp seeds can also be added on top of the bowl.

Step 1
Before you begin the recipe, make sure you’re using the right type of cocoa powder. Make sure you have cocoa powder for baking and not a hot cocoa powder mix. Baker’s cocoa powder should be unsweetened and 100% dark. You’ll find this type of cocoa powder in the baking aisle at your grocery store.Step 2
Open a new can of organic coconut milk (do not shake it beforehand). Scrape the thick cream from the lid and top of the can into a blender until you reach the weight listed in the ingredients. Add the cocoa powder, almond milk, vanilla extract, and liquid stevia to the blender. Pulse these ingredients until the cocoa powder breaks up, then blend the ingredients at high speed to make the base of the smoothie.Step 3
Add frozen strawberries to the blender, and blend again at high speed until the strawberries are broken up. Blend ice cubes into the smoothie until it is thickened to your desired consistency. One smoothie will create 16 fluid ounces, so pour it into a tall glass for serving. Drink this Keto smoothie once a week before a workout or as a treat or snack.
