Keto MCT Thai Iced Tea
Thai iced tea has become very popular for its aromatic, rich, and refreshing flavors. Better still, this addictive spiced beverage is easy to prepare on a Low-Carb diet. All you need is black tea bags, some aromatics, water, coconut milk, MCT oil, and ice. This creamy beverage can be enjoyed all year round.
What is Thai iced tea?
Thai tea is made from strongly brewed black tea spiced with aromatics like star anise, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. This brew is then served over ice with condensed milk and sugar. This Keto version is prepared using a similar tea brew, but finished off with coconut milk instead of sugar-loaded condensed milk.
Is this beverage sweetened?
Generally, Thai iced tea latte is sweetened with condensed milk. This Keto Thai iced tea latte is unsweetened, but you can sweeten it to your preference! Some great sweetener options include liquid stevia drops, monk fruit blend, powdered erythritol, or powdered allulose.
Can you omit the MCT oil from this Keto iced tea recipe?
This recipe is perfect for sneaking in some energy-boosting MCT oil. It increases the fat content of the tea and helps control your appetite. If you don’t have MCT oil on hand, you can omit it from the recipe.
What can you substitute the coconut milk with?
Coconut milk is rich, nutty, and has a hint of natural sweetness, an excellent choice for this unsweetened tea latte. Its tropical flavor pairs beautifully with the aromatics added to the tea. You can swap it for heavy cream if preferred.
