Keto Shepherd's Pie

727 ratings

No matter the weather, a classic shepherd's pie can bring comfort to anyone eating it. By preparing a recipe of cauliflower mash in advance, you can make a big shepherd's pie that will satisfy a whole family! You don’t have to be on a diet to enjoy this meal, either. A savory meat and veggie filling is topped off with creamy mashed cauliflower and melty cheese.

Made this for my family and it was very yummy. I can say, if you’re able to make the cauliflower mash from scratch, it tastes much better than the store bought kind.

Love this recipe. Didn't have any fresh carrots so added tinned carrots and peas (drained). Absolutely delicious. Had a slice of the keto loaf. Great meal

We loved this recipe. I added more of my spices to the beef, paprika, dried chillies, ground rosemary, onion powder, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Lots of flavour. I also skipped the carrots and served it on top of green beans instead. Delicious, definitely on my polish to make again.

This Cottage pie is pretty bland, definitely recommend adding some other spices. (Onion powder, garlic powder, more pepper.). I make this as a Hunter’s Pie with ground venison or elk for a leaner fat profile and higher protein content.

A little bland. Had to doctor it up with some spices.

I love swede mash, which is called rutabaga in the US. Prepare the same as cauliflower mash ❤️

This was really delicious. I added onion powder and onion flakes and a beef seasoning worth a small can of pass and carrots. The cauliflower mash was kind of a pain to make, but I'll probably try a different process next time. Definitely will make this again!

Awesome recipe. I make this with a 50/50 topping of cauliflower and potato mash for the carbivors (kids). I love recipes that are easily shared between keto and carbo eaters. Leftovers keep well for lunch the next day.

Maybe this shepherd couldn’t afford lamb but still wanted to eat a meat pie, hence sheperds pie.

I made this last night. It was good but not much like my traditional shepherd’s pie recipe. My husband missed the bacon that I usually put in mine. It occurred to me that it tasted more like a cheeseburger casserole. When we eat leftovers we might serve on romaine boats with dill pickles and mustard. Overall I’m glad I made it and really glad I did a double recipe which made about 7 dinner sized servings. One head of cauliflower worked for the double recipe of cauliflower mash.

Loved this recipe, I have 2 portions for dinner and take single portions for lunch at work( microwaves really well ) the only thing I added was a beef stock cube. Very tasty and will become a regular for me 9/10👍 serve with a large Gin and Slimline Tonic ☺️
