Keto Egg Salad Chaffle Breakfast Sandwich
If you enjoy eggs for breakfast, get ready to double down with this delicious egg salad chaffle sandwich. Cheesy chaffles are used in place of traditional bread slices and filled with a refreshing egg salad, avocado, and fresh veggies. Even though this is a breakfast Keto sandwich, you can still enjoy it for lunch or as a satiating vegetarian dinner.
What is a chaffle?
The word chaffle is the combination of the words cheddar and waffle, and it refers to a low-carb waffle made from eggs and cheese. The egg and cheese mixture makes perfectly fluffy waffles that have a slightly crunchy cheese exterior. They can be eaten on their own, with toppings, or used as bread slices to make a sandwich similar to this one.
Can you replace the egg salad in this Keto breakfast sandwich?
Absolutely! This sandwich is super forgiving and can be adjusted to your liking. Feel free to swap the egg salad for a tuna or chicken salad if you’re looking for high-protein options. This sandwich is perfect for utilizing leftover hardboiled eggs or chicken, but you can always prepare the salad from scratch.
What type of waffle iron can you use?
With the increasing popularity of chaffles, you can find waffle irons specially made for chaffles. They are usually round and smaller than a regular waffle iron. However, you don’t need a new kitchen appliance to prepare this delicious Keto breakfast sandwich. The only thing you need in a waffle iron for making chaffles is nonstick plates.

The filling was good but I would cut the salt in half, way too salty. I could not eat the chaffles, did not like the taste at all.

Very tasty! I used lime instead and the radish give it a nice crunch.
