Keto Creamy Hummus
This Keto hummus is prepared with steamed cauliflower and looks and tastes just like authentic hummus. It is creamy, nutty, and slightly tangy, satisfying all Mediterranean food cravings. This version is one of the quickest Keto snack recipes you'll ever come across, taking just 10 minutes to prepare and no cooking at all.
Is hummus Keto?
Traditional hummus is made primarily of chickpeas, which is not Keto-friendly. All the remaining ingredients are low-carb and compliment the texture and flavor of the hummus. This Keto hummus uses cauliflower instead of chickpeas, making for the ultimate low-carb replacement. We have steamed the cauliflower to keep the flavor mild, but you can roast it if you like intense flavors. Other ingredients completing this dip include tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, salt, and pepper.
What if you don’t have a microwave?
This recipe requires no actual cooking. Instead, we are steaming the cauliflower in the microwave. You can also cook the florets in a steamer basket over boiling water until tender.
What to eat with hummus?
This creamy hummus recipe makes the perfect Keto appetizer or healthy snack. The best and healthiest option to eat with this dip would be raw veggies like cucumber, carrots, radish, celery, or broccoli. You can also incorporate it in other dishes like serving it with grilled chicken, spreading it on a fathead pizza, or using it as a condiment with grilled burgers.
Is hummus healthy?
Whether hummus is healthy or not depends on the ingredients used. This Keto hummus uses all whole food ingredients suitable for many diets. Consider using organic vegetables, condiments, and spices to ensure optimum quality.
