Keto Texas BBQ Sauce
Keto and Low Carb store-bought barbeque sauces are hard to come by! Thankfully, making your own Keto Texas BBQ sauce at home is easy by simply using some pantry staples. Diced onions and garlic are sauteed in olive oil until they are translucent. Then, sugar-free or Paleo-style ketchup is added with brown sugar sweetener, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder. The flavor is phenomenal and would be perfect for air fryer chicken wings or spread on top of a rack of ribs. You will want to save this recipe in your repertoire of Keto sauces.
Is Worcestershire sauce Keto?
While Worchestershire sauce has some ingredients that may or may not be acceptable on specific diets, the sauce itself is Keto when used in the amounts this recipe requires. If you don't want to use Worcestershire sauce, you can easily substitute it with coconut amino acids. You can also substitute it with gluten-free soy sauce if you are ok with soy products.
What is the best type of ketchup to use for this Keto sauce?
The best ketchup to use for this recipe is a sugar-free, no-sugar-added or Paleo-style ketchup that is also Low Carb for a typical serving. Traditional ketchups have corn syrup added and are best avoided.
Is this recipe dairy-free?
Yes! Our recipe for Keto Texas BBQ sauce is dairy-free. However, most recipes call for butter instead of olive oil like we have used here. If you do not have any dairy restrictions, feel free to substitute the olive oil for butter.
To make the ultimate pairing, serve this Keto Texas BBQ sauce with a Keto rib recipe like our Keto Dry Rub Texan Ribs!
