Keto Baked Crispy Wings and Dings
Since when did “wings and dings” become a term, and what happened to good ol’ chicken wings? Fear not, it’s all one and the same. We’re not talking about the Microsoft Word font, Wingdings, either! This recipe is incredibly low on carbs. There’s no breading in sight but you still get a crispy bite every time, thanks to the perfect combo of spicy brown mustard and flavorful seasonings. Pick your favorite keto-dip, and you have a great meal ahead of you!

Step 1
Preheat and oven to 400 degrees. Prepare your chicken wings but cutting them in half with a utility knife into the wings and dings. You can leave the wings whole if you prefer, but they will get the best crispy exterior if you separate them.Step 2
Grab two clean, shallow bowls. In one, melt the butter in a microwave for about 20 seconds - just enough time so the butter is mostly melted. Whisk the brown mustard into the butter and set aside.Step 3
In the second bowl, combine all the seasonings except for the green onion. Set this next to your bowl of mustard.Step 4
Line a sheet pan with foil to catch any drippings during cooking. Spray a baking rack and place it over the sheet tray. To coat the chicken wings, roll each piece in the dry seasoning. Then, use your clean fingers or a spoon to generously coat eat wing in the mustard mixture. Set each piece evenly apart from each other on the baking rack.Step 5
Bake the wings for 40-45 minutes until they have a crispy outside and are piping hot all the way through. For garnishing, chop the green onion and sprinkle over the top of the wings. Enjoy!

This recipe makes no sense. to make 2 servings, each person is going to get one and a half chicken wings??? 3 Tablespoons of wet and 3 tablespoons of dry to coat 3 chicken wings?? NO WAY !

What does “yield after cooking, bone removed” mean? Does it mean I have to remove the bone after cooking before measuring the chicken wings?
Wordsmithist 3 years ago
It's an estimation of what the food cooked with turn, nutritionally speaking. You certainly wouldn't want to debone wings because they're the best part!

I used chicken breast for one piece & 2 chicken thighs for the other two. Breast was bah... cooked 25 min. Very juicy but... won’t do breast again. Still waiting on the thighs .....

Is 3 pieces 3 whole wings?
recipewriter 6 years ago
Hi there, No, a piece would be either a "wing" or "ding". These chicken wings are broken down into their 2 parts before cooking. Hope this helps!

Is boneless chicken breasts an option?
recipewriter 6 years ago
Hi there, You could substitute in chicken breast! Your end result may have a different texture if your chicken is skinless, but nutritionally you shouldn't affect much. Happy eating!

What sauce can I use instead of mustard?
recipewriter 6 years ago
Hi there, Ranch may work as a substitute. The mustard is an important role in making a crispy outside and is a key flavor component, so your results might be quite different if you replace the mustard. Hope this helps!

So I'm not a fan of green onion. If I leave this off, any idea what the carbs will be?
recipewriter 6 years ago
Removing the green onion will not eliminate any carbs, as the amount in the ingredient list is too small to affect the nutrition. Hope this helps!

Where are the carbs coming from?
recipewriter 6 years ago
Hi there, The carbs come from the onion and seasonings. Although minimal, dried seasonings do add carbs. Hope this helps!
