Keto Smokey Crispy Ribs
Oh, who doesn’t love ribs? You don’t need an outdoor grill to get perfectly smokey and crispy finger food! Using a lot of healthy fat and a hot oven, you can have ribs that have a crunch on the outside and are pull-a-part tender on the inside. You may not want to share this recipe with another!

Step 1
In a bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, garlic, and thyme.Step 2
Prepare the rack of ribs on a flat, clean surface. Rub the ribs down with olive oil. Then, apply the spice mix to the top of the ribs. Use your fingers to rub the spices into the meat.Step 3
Tightly wrap the seasoned ribs in aluminum foil. Place the ribs in the refrigerator. Allow them to marinate for up to 12 hours, but preferably overnight.Step 4
When ready to cook the ribs, preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Without unwrapping the ribs, place them, foil and all, in the oven. Let the ribs cook for about 3 hours. After baking, remove the ribs from the foil and place them in a sprayed baking pan. Slice a tablespoon of butter into 4-5 slices, and place them on top of the ribs.Step 5
Turn the oven heat up to 375 degrees. Place the tray of ribs, uncovered, in the oven. Bake the ribs for about 25 minutes or until the tops of the ribs are browned and crispy.Step 6
Allow the ribs to cool slightly before eating. Enjoy!

Glad to see, it is not just mean who feels there is something wrong with these metrics. Most of the recipies are way off my micros, and tweeking them can fix that. Thank you for letting me know about copying and adjusting.

If you copy the recipe to your foods, you can then edit it and actually scan the package of ribs you choose to use. This will give you a more accurate accounting of the calories, fat, protein and carbs.

Yummy Regarding high calorie count .. You must consider a serving of 4 ribs totals 9.4 ounces cooked weight. That is a lot. Most recipes tell you raw weight. If you notice the recipe calls for 1.5 pounds (24 ounces) which will give you 2 servings of 9.4 ounces. See where the difference comes into play. Enjoy.

On a Maple Leaf Pork Back Ribs package it’s only 179 Calories (112g) per 2 Ribs. On this recipe is way too high Calories.

I would be fine with two ribs. Too bad I can not change that in the program

How can 4 ribs equate to over 1,400 calories??? That can’t be right.
Cfpeck 4 years ago
I’m wondering the same thing. On the package of ribs it shows 4 ribs at 300 calories. How can it be 1400?

What makes this so high in calories?

We love this rub! I make up extra and use it like a seasoning salt. We put it on beef, chicken, and sometimes veggies! Thank you for this recipe. It saves me from having to buy seasoning packets with lots of additives that I don’t want! Highly recommend this recipe and the rub!

This was good but for some reason on my grocery list it showed “baby back ribs” which I now assume is too small for the amount of seasoning and baking this recipe entails. I’ll try again soon with spare ribs.

What does the butter do? Crisp up the spices on top?

Why so high in calories?
recipewriter 5 years ago
Yes, this helps add that crispy top coat as well as include keto fat.

Where does the sugar and sugar alcohol come from? I see them in the nutritional information, but I don’t know which ingredients contribute them.
recipewriter 5 years ago
Although minimal, dried spices add some carbs to meals. The paprika would be the main contributor here.
