Carnivore Butter Basted Ribeye Steak
This foolproof rib-eye steak is quick and easy, requiring only 5 ingredients. There aren’t many Carnivore diet recipes that yield such a juicy, delicious, and perfectly cooked steak. With this butter-basted ribeye recipe, you can have a mouth-watering dinner in under 20 minutes.
Can you make this recipe using another steak cut?
Absolutely! Instead of ribeye, you can use T-bone, sirloin, New York steak, or tenderloin. Keep in mind that the cooking time will differ accordingly.
How to season Carnivore diet steak recipes?
Since the Carnivore diet limits spices, herbs, and aromatics, we are using a few quality ingredients. All the flavor comes from the meat, so buying high-quality grass-fed beef is crucial for a delicious steak. Like most carnivore diet recipes, fats contribute significantly to the overall taste and texture, so we suggest choosing a fatty cut. All that’s left to add is some sea salt, coarse black pepper, and butter. We have also added some rosemary, but omit it if you are on a strict carnivore diet.
What is the doneness of this steak?
If you follow this recipe to the T, you will end up with medium-rare steak if its thickness is 1 ½ inches. If you prefer your beef cooked to medium, add 2-3 minutes of cooking time in the oven. Keep in mind that the thickness will change the cooking time.
Can’t you finish cooking the steak on the stove?
Because this ribeye is thick, cooking the steak all the way through on the skillet would overcook the outside before cooking the center. This would result in a tough crust and undercooked center.
