Keto Fruit Punch

This take on fruit punch is non alcoholic and is delicious enough for the whole family to enjoy! Use this recipe when you’re in the process of reducing your sugar intake (or your kids’). Instead of going for sweets, you can grab a glass of refreshing fruit punch. You’ll find your drink especially refreshing on hot afternoons and warm nights. You just need a few simple fruits you can get your hands on almost any time of year: oranges, limes, and lemons. Use frozen strawberries instead of fresh ones, but make sure to choose unsweetened frozen fruit.

Is this punch kid-friendly?

This non alcoholic punch recipe is 100% kid and family-friendly. To make it low carb we've left out unnatural sweeteners and excess carbs. The whole family will enjoy this fruit punch recipe, whether they’re low carb or not!

Choosing the sweetest fruit

It’s recommended you choose the sweeter strands of fruit to make a fruit punch. Look for navel oranges, key limes, and Meyer lemons. Other types of fruit may be cheaper, but you more than likely want a sweet punch instead of a tart punch! If you’re having trouble finding seasonal or sweet-enough fruit, look for flavored sparkling water that can help round out the taste.

Is fruit healthy on a low carb diet?

Like all things, in moderation, fruit can be perfectly healthy on a low carb diet. You just have to be smart about it. You can eat whole berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc) or opt for fruit juices. Using fruit juices to flavor foods or to make a refreshing drink like this one is a creative way to get some Vitamin C, a little natural sweetness, and a yummy taste.

  • Step 1

Add frozen strawberries to a pot with just enough water to submerge them - about one cup. Cook the strawberries over medium heat until they’re soft enough to mash with a fork. Take the pot off the heat, and use an immersion blender to puree the strawberries and water together (you can do this in a blender too).
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Strain the strawberry puree into a 28-ounce or larger jar or container. Add the juice of all oranges, limes, and lemons to the container. The fruit juice will need to cool down, so cover and keep the container in your refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until chilled.
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Once the fruit juice is cold, add unflavored or lemon/lime-flavored sparkling water to the container to top it off. You’ll need approximately 14 fluid ounces of sparkling water to finish the fruit punch. Stir the drink together and pour over ice. One glass is approximately 4 fluid ounces of fruit punch.

Portion control will be important of course, but am absolutely looking forward to trying this out. Thanks for this - it sounds like a lovely combination of citrus and berries, and I can fit a small juice glass worth into my carb budget as a treat now and then. Cheers!

1 net carb per ounce isn't worth it.
