Keto Hollandaise Sauce

17 ratings

This classic breakfast staple is completely true to authentic recipes and totally keto! Adding hollandaise sauce to your breakfast (or any other meal) is a great way to add fat and a touch of protein. Even better, it takes just a few minutes to make. Yum!

Recipe Steps

  • Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, warm water, and lemon juice. Then, transfer the whisked ingredients to a small pot.
    Step 1
  • Step 2

Set the pot over a very low heat on the stove. Continually whisk the egg mixture while you heat the contents until you have a thick, pale yellow sauce that can hold streaks made by the whisk. If you overheat the sauce, the egg will cook and become chunky - you don’t want this!
    Step 2
  • Step 3

Take the pot off the heat immediately. Whisk in the butter, 1 tablespoon at a time. Then, whisk in the salt and paprika. Serve hot!

Planning salmon and asparagus spears tonight. Needed a sauce. Have you seen where some have added a little mustard to their hollandaise? Just sounds like that might work here. Thanks for this recipe. I’ve tried to make Hollandaise sauce before and scrambled it. I think I’ll give this another try. Maybe use my little double-boiler this time 🤔 😁.

How many servings is in a full recipe? Explain the 2 in the little box above than can be changed. Does this mean the nutrition facts are for 2-2 Tbsp. Servings? Or for just one serving?

How long can you keep it in the fridge for?

Store the container on the warming plate for up to one hour before serving. Pour the leftover sauce into a plastic- or glass-storage bowl. Seal the lid tightly and place the bowl in the refrigerator. Store the sauce refrigerated for one to two days.

Hollandaise can't be stored in the fridge but can be frozen apparently.

1/4 tsp paprika and salt is WAY to much ! Great otherwise!
