Low Carb Game Day Green Smoothie
It’s game day! Maybe you have a big morning at the gym planned, or you’re looking for a Keto friendly Superbowl drink, or you know you need some brain food before you hit the office. This smoothie is for anyone who needs a big pick-me-up with lots of vitamins. Healthy Keto fats can be found in avocado, coconut oil, and flax seeds. Avocado also has magnesium, which you need for stress regulation. B vitamins are in the avocado, spinach, and almond milk, and there is vitamin C in the lemon and orange juice added. It’s recommended you also include a ½ scoop or full scoop of vanilla Keto protein powder, but the ingredient isn’t required.
Picking a Keto protein powder
Although not required for the recipe, it’s recommended you choose a vanilla Keto protein powder to add to the smoothie, which isn’t included in the ingredients. Choose a protein powder that is specifically labeled “Keto”. While you may be able to keep carbs low with other protein powders, Keto protein powder is designed specifically with your macros in mind. Plus, other protein powders may be sweetened with ingredients that are on the Keto “no” list for sweeteners.
Can I make extra and keep leftovers?
You can keep this smoothie for up to 24 hours. It’s best to make it fresh when you want it since it has raw avocado in it. To keep the smoothie bright green with equally bright flavors, make it in the morning before your day fills up.
Serving suggestions
You aren’t required to have a big game day to drink this smoothie, of course! This is a good smoothie to drink before a workout for the fiber and after a workout for the healthy, restorative fats. The vitamin C and B vitamins are good for restoring tired muscles as well. If you happen to be looking for a hangover cure, turn to this recipe!

Step 1
Obtain your ingredients and make sure of just a couple of things. Use a ripe avocado that isn’t too firm or dark green still. The softer flesh will be better for your smoothie. Make sure coconut oil is at room temperature so it blends into the smoothie easily. It’s recommended you use liquid stevia drops as opposed to another Keto sweetener.Step 2
Combine all the ingredients into a blender. Blend the ingredients until they’re smooth. Taste and adjust the smoothie as needed, adding more sweetener or citrus juice.Step 3
Blend your optional protein powder or ice cubes into the smoothie at your discretion. Pour the smoothie into a glass and the recipe is done! You can also split a single serving in half for two lower-carb drinks.
