Keto Microwave Taco Shells

Our Keto Microwave Taco Shells are so easy to make. We have simply taken cheese wraps and cooked them in the microwave until nicely browned. Once the cheese is melted and browned, it is shaped over a rolling pin to form a taco shape. These tacos are great for filling with ground taco meat, lettuce, and other taco fillings. They are wonderfully Low Carb as well! You can never run out of easy ways to incorporate fats into your meal plan when on the Keto diet!

Can I use other types of cheese?

We used presliced cheese wraps because they are already cut into a perfect circular shape to form a taco. However, you can use the same method with shredded cheese. You will have to calculate the calories separately based on the amount of cheese you use, but you will be able to follow the exact method below. If using shredded cheese, feel free to use any flavor of cheese you would like. Form the shredded cheese into a circular shape on the parchment paper before cooking in the microwave.

How do you know the tacos are done cooking?

The cheese tacos are done when they are evenly browned throughout. You are looking for a golden brown color. If they are dark brown, you have gone too far.

What is the best paper to use?

Please use plain white or brown parchment paper for this recipe. If the cheese wrap slices come with wax paper, remove and discard, as it is not nonstick like parchment paper.
