Information overload is a real thing.

The internet has only made it worse.

And when it comes to Keto? Wow. There’s so much information available, it’s almost impossible to sort the good advice from the bad.

Enter: Carb Manager’s Ultimate Keto Resource Guide! Featuring some of our favorite Keto resources from brands and medical experts we trust.

Why Keto?

Keto is powerful.

This low-carb, high-fat, moderate-protein diet helps you to enter a metabolic state called ketosis.[*]

In ketosis, your body shifts from burning carbs to burning fat for its primary fuel source. This offers a number of potential benefits, like easier weight loss, better blood sugar control, and improved brain function.[*][*]

For these reasons, many people have adopted Keto as a long-term lifestyle to help optimize their health.

Our Favorite Keto Resources

Still, getting started with Keto can be overwhelming. There are so many websites, apps, blogs, coaches, etc., that it can be hard to know who to trust for reliable information.

That’s why we’ve rounded up some of our favorite and most trusted Keto resources to equip you with the best tools and knowledge sources available.

Here they are, divided by category.

Biohacking Tools

These tools can help you better understand your metabolism and how what you eat affects it.

Keto Mojo is a blood testing device that you can use to measure your ketone and blood sugar levels. If you’re interested in checking if you’re in ketosis, or monitoring how your ketone or blood sugar levels respond to certain foods or other lifestyle factors, then a Keto Mojo device is a great investment.

Lumen is a metabolic health breathalyzer that measures the CO2 in your breath to tell you if you’re primarily burning carbs, fat, or a mixture of both.

Places to Shop

Here are some of our favorite places to shop for Keto foods.

Thrive Market is an online membership club that offers high-quality, specialty foods that can be difficult to find anywhere else. They have a huge catalog of Keto-friendly foods, including frozen meals, desserts, and meats. Membership costs about $60 per year, but they offer some great incentives – like discounted prices and free gifts.

Misfits Market is an online grocery store that started out by selling blemished or oddly-shaped or-sized produce that couldn’t be sold in stores. Now, they sell a variety of groceries — including lots of natural and organic options and a wide assortment of vegetables, meats, cheeses, and Keto-friendly snacks. Their stock changes each week, but there are no membership fees.

If you have a Whole Foods nearby, it’s a great store to find healthy, Keto-friendly foods. Also, Amazon Prime members living near Whole Foods can get free grocery delivery.

Finally, Trader Joe’s is a unique grocery store that sells a lot of healthy, flavorful foods. You may be particularly interested in their Keto-friendly snacks and frozen meals. However, you can’t order Trader Joe’s online — you’ll have to go check it out in person.

Podcasts and Youtube Channels

These are some of our favorite podcasts to listen to while working out, cleaning, or driving.

Leanne Vogel’s podcast is really helpful because she deep dives into a number of topics related to Keto. She also takes a holistic, functional approach to health and advocates for a clean Keto eating pattern — focusing on whole, natural, and minimally-processed foods.

The Low Carb MD Podcast is hosted by four well-known health practitioners in the Keto world: Dr. Brian Lenzkes, Dr. Tro Kalayjian, Dr. Jason Fung, and Megan Ramos.

They interview other experts, as well as people whose lives have changed from utilizing Keto and fasting. You will learn a lot from listening to their extensive catalog of episodes.

Online Communities

Want to grow your support network and talk to others about Keto? These communities are great places to get involved.

Still, the posts in these communities aren’t vetted for accuracy — so remember that not everything you read from these groups will be 100% trustworthy.

Carb Manager Groups

Our in-app groups are open to all users and provide messaging-style discussions on a variety of Keto and low carb diet topics, from Keto for women, to weight loss goals, exercise, and everything in between. You can browse topics, share tips, provide feedback, ask questions, find answers, and make friends. You can also join our online forums.

If you’re particularly interested in bodybuilding on Keto, this Facebook group is an excellent resource. The founder takes a cyclical Keto approach to help bodybuilders prepare for competition.

Our friends at Perfect Keto offer supplements and snacks that are ideal for Keto and formulated with clean ingredients. We’re particularly fond of their Daily Electrolytes and their Keto Protein Powder.

We also offer a comprehensive suite of Keto-friendly recipes, meal planning tools, educational resources, an intermittent fasting tracker, and much more.

Books

“The Case for Keto” by Gary Taubes is a deep dive into the science behind why and how Keto works. If you’re curious and science-minded, this book is a great read to help you fully understand the science behind Keto.

“End Your Carb Confusion” by Dr. Eric Westman and Amy Berger, CNS, is a great beginner’s guide to Keto and low-carb diets. It breaks down the science in a way that’s easy to understand and helps you pick the carb level that’s the best for your current health status and goals.

Want some delectable Keto recipes that can be tracked in Carb Manager with a simple QR code scan? Then you definitely need the Carb Manager Cookbook. It features 101 recipes with full-color photos for each, and  — not that we’re biased — they are some of the tastiest you’ll ever try.

I'm having a really hard time losing weight. I am the heaviest I have ever been and the more I try the more I gain. Can anyone on here help me? I know it's harder to lose weight as you get older.

I’m 63 and losing slowly, but feeling great when I keep my total carbs low. I’ve lost 50 pounds in 2 years. That’s a snail’s pace compared to what others do, but that’s ok. I have 70 more pounds to lose, and believe I’ve learned enough about what works, and what doesn’t work for me. to lose that over the next couple of years. For me, I lose nothing when total carbs are over 20/day. And I lose 1-2 pounds/week when I stay under 10 total carbs/day. I’ve learned that keto treats trigger carb binges for me. It’s just always a 1-6 week detour for me, so I don’ do treats anymore. Just mostly meat (beef, pork, chicken, salmon, shrimp, scallops, etc) and meat products (heavy cream, butter, bacon grease, cheese) and occasional low carb vegetables (onions, broccoli, cauliflower. asparagus, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, jalapeño peppers, celery). You need to experiment and pay attention to what works, and doesn’t work, for you. But low carb is totally doable and healthy. It’s worth the effort. And it’s tasty! And I feel great and am never hungry.

It is harder but its not impossible. Maybe what you are trying isnt working? I have had to change what i eat as ive hit 50 and put on extra weight due to menopause. Are you trying this carb manager app? Or something else? Baby steps. I would encourage you to set small goals and celebrate when you achieve them. Dont put your expectations so high that you get discouraged by small setbacks. You want to stay motivated ❤️ I did a weight loss program thru a clinic to start with because it had alot of accountability and weekly weigh ins. Downside is the cost but it was worth it! That worked great for me! Now im switching to the carb manager app for maintenance. I think you have to find the right combo for you. Im praying for you! You can do this!
